Huntingburg, Ind. — Authorities are investigating a fatal dog attack in Dubois County that resulted in the deaths of a 4-year-old girl and a 53-year-old woman on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. when officers from the Huntingburg Police Department responded to a home on North Geiger Street after receiving reports of a person found unresponsive with blood around them. Firefighters and medical personnel were also dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officials discovered the woman and child unresponsive inside the residence. The woman was later pronounced dead at the scene, while the young girl was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
