Indianapolis, Indiana – A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday night after being struck by a car, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
On Tuesday, just before 6:50 p.m., a collision occurred at East Stop 11 Road and Madison Avenue. On the south side of the city, it is in a neighborhood containing residences, stores, restaurants, and other establishments.
Lt. Shane Foley of the IMPD Public Affairs Office said by email, “Preliminarily officers believe a driver was northbound on Madison and struck a pedestrian who was in the road. The driver remained on scene and alcohol is not currently believed to be a factor.”
It wasn’t immediately clear who the deceased person was or what gender they were.
The kind of car involved was not immediately known.
