GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. — An Evansville man is facing multiple charges, including drunk driving and reckless driving, following an arrest in Gibson County early Sunday morning.
According to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, 34-year-old Dominik Major was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour on Highway 41 just before 2 a.m. when he was pulled over near Steelman Chapel Road.
Deputies reported that upon approaching Major’s vehicle, they could immediately detect the strong odor of alcohol. A field sobriety test was conducted, and Major was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
In addition to drunk driving charges, Major is also facing a charge of reckless driving due to his excessive speed. He was transported to the Gibson County Jail for processing.
Authorities have not released further details about the incident, but Major’s arrest highlights ongoing concerns about speeding and impaired driving in the region.
The investigation is ongoing, and Major is expected to face court proceedings in the coming weeks.
