Greensburg, Indiana – According to Indiana State Police, an Osgood man was killed after his car and a dump truck collided on U.S. 421 in southeast Decatur County on Monday morning.
26-year-old Noah Seals was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze northbound when he veered across the center line and struck a dump truck. The 2016 Mack dump truck’s driver, Patrick Stroud, 38, of Vevay, was operating it when he suffered minor injuries that were attended to at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.
Just after 8 a.m. on Monday, state police started their investigation into the collision on U.S. 421 close to County Road 600 South. The distance from Greensburg to there is around 7 miles.
Investigators think that the automobile and dump truck nearly collided head-on in the northbound lanes before leaving U.S. 421 and coming to rest.
According to a state police news release from Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, toxicology reports are still awaiting, but alcohol and narcotics were not thought to be contributing causes to the collision.
