Indianapolis, Indiana – Gas prices continue to decline as we are headed into the Thanksgiving weekend, which comes as a relief for drivers who are going to hit the roads for the holiday. Industry experts previously thought that Americans might see increased gas prices as the holiday season approached due to increased demand, something that is seen almost every single year.
At least for the Thanksgiving weekend, drivers will drive cheaper compared to the previous period.
According to GasBuddy’s most recent weekly report, the average price of a gallon of gas in Indiana on Wednesday was $3.76. Wednesday’s average price once again confirmed that gas prices in Indiana finally remained under the $4 mark for an extended period of time, following the summer when gas prices reached all-time highs across the country.
“I think its been a nauseating year and a heck of a rollercoaster ride with all of the ups and downs,” Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum analysis with GasBuddy, said. “I think 2022 is going to be one for the books, and I hope next year we will not be setting new records like we did this year.”
Previous forecast now has changed and according to De Haan, the declining trend is expected to continue in the upcoming period. In a period when Americans have additional expenses fueled by skyrocketing prices and high inflation, lower gas prices and cheaper driving will most certainly come as a relief for many.
