Indianapolis, Indiana — According to Mayor Joe Hogsett, the city government should approve more than $10 million for road repair and construction.
The money would be put to immediate use on different roads throughout Marion County if approved.
According to the city says, it’s identified the streets most in need of repairs using pavement-deterioration data. The roads include 10th Street and Pleasant Run Parkway South Drive.
According to the Democrat mayor, “The plain fact is Indianapolis residents are tired of seeing roadways like this one. Thanks to the creative funding sources like the ones we’re announcing today they won’t have to see that much longer.”
The mayor and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works also are asking for an additional $3 million for the design of future road projects.
On Monday night, the City-County Council was to introduce the funding.
