Indianapolis, Indiana – No new deaths were reported in the latest report issued by the Indiana State Department of Health, but the situation with coronavirus is alarming as the number of cases is still high.
Health experts agree that the vaccines are the only way out of the pandemic and the Delta variant is the only reason now why the numbers increase.
According to the latest report issued on Monday, 616 new positive cases were reported across the state. Luckily, no now deaths were reported as a result of the virus.
Since the start of the pandemic last March, Indiana added a total of 774,097 positive cases and 13,583 confirmed deaths.
Fifty people more were hospitalized since Sunday now bringing the total number of hospitalized people to 902.
A total of 5,898,773 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana. The number includes 2,944,357 first doses and 2,954,416 individuals who are completely vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer or Moderna’s vaccines, or single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Among all tests, the cumulative positivity rate is 8.4%, while the seven-day positivity rate is 7.5%.
Hospitals see a little bit of pressure since two weeks ago, but the situation seems to be stable since 32.5% of ICU beds and 78.2% of ventilators are available as of now.
