Indianapolis, Indiana – New direct airline from Indianapolis to Austin, TX to start from Indianapolis International Airport in September, Indianapolis Airport officials said in a press release.
According to the press release, American Airlines will operate the flight starting September 8. There will be one flight daily. However, starting October 2nd, American Airline will offer 2 direct flights daily to Austin.
Flights to Austin will be added to American Airlines flight schedule on June 14th.
“This is a triple win for Hoosier travelers,” Mario Rodriguez, the executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, stated. “We’re getting another new nonstop, and to the great city of Austin, Texas where food and music culture thrive, and American will leverage Indy headquartered Republic Airways’ operations and E-175 aircraft.”
Indy airport added 16 new nonstop flights from Indianapolis since the start of the year. The latest destination added in the schedule were Miami, Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Panama City.
