Morgan County, Indiana – I-70 crash in Morgan County resulted with 1 person dead after three semi-trucks were involved in the accident. The accident took place Thursday morning.
Authorities informed that crews responded just after midnight on Thursday near the 52 Mile Marker in the eastbound direction on I-70.
The person who died in the crash was identified by police as 37-year-old Alfred Hill Jr. of Houston, Texas, and he was one of the drivers of the semi-trucks.
A preliminary investigation by ISP found that Hill’s 2001 Mack semi tractor-trailer was disabled and partially in the driving lane of I-70 with no lighting. When another semi-driver noticed the truck at the last second, he swerved to get into the passing lane to avoid a collision.
Unfortunately, when he entered the passing line, third semi-truck was passing and the collision occurred. Hill and the disabled truck were struck during the collision.
One of the drivers suffered minor injuries, but was transferred to hospital for addition examinations.
No signs of alcohol or drugs were found in the drivers.
