Evansville, IN – The Evansville Police Department announced that National Night Out 2026 will return in August with a new location and an evening of activities focused on strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Courtyard, located on Locust Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and SE 9th Street.
The Evansville Police Department and Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office will join community partners for the annual event, which gives residents an opportunity to meet local law enforcement officers, learn about available resources, and participate in family-friendly activities.
Attendees will have the chance to interact with members of specialized units, including the SWAT Team, Bomb Squad, K-9 Officers, Crime Prevention Unit, School Resource Officers, and Motorcycle Traffic Unit.
The event will also feature free food, giveaways, police equipment displays, and information from community organizations.
The Evansville Police Department said National Night Out is designed to build stronger connections between officers and the residents they serve while promoting community involvement and public safety.
Officials encouraged families throughout Evansville and the surrounding area to attend the event, whether they stop by briefly or spend the entire evening participating in activities.
The department said the goal of National Night Out is to bring the community together and highlight the importance of partnerships between residents and law enforcement.
