Evansville, IN – Members of the Evansville Police Department joined city officials and employees earlier this week at a proclamation ceremony hosted by Mayor Stephanie Terry recognizing U.S. history and national heritage.
According to the Evansville Police Department, the ceremony brought together community members and City of Evansville government staff to reflect on the country’s past and the people and events that have shaped its development.
Officials described the gathering as an opportunity for local leaders, public employees, and public safety personnel to come together in recognition of shared history and civic pride.
The proclamation ceremony highlighted the importance of reflecting on national milestones and acknowledging the historical events that have contributed to the nation’s growth over time.
Police officials said their participation reflects ongoing efforts to engage with the community beyond traditional policing duties, including attending civic events and supporting city-led initiatives.
City leaders and participants emphasized the value of unity and reflection during the ceremony, which served as a reminder of the country’s history and the role of local communities in preserving it.
The event concluded with officials expressing appreciation for all who attended and participated in the proclamation ceremony.
