Evansville, IN – The Evansville Police Department announced that officers have completed their annual in-service training required by the State of Indiana. The training was conducted over the past three months and covered several key areas officers may encounter while on duty.
According to the department, the instruction included topics such as use of force, de-escalation techniques, emergency vehicle operations, firearms proficiency, investigative procedures, and other critical law enforcement skills.
Officials noted that while the training satisfies state requirements, it represents only a portion of the instruction officers complete throughout the year.
Officers regularly participate in additional courses and exercises to maintain readiness and keep up with evolving best practices in policing.
The department also highlighted that it has maintained accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies since 1994.
Officials said the accreditation reflects the agency’s commitment to professional standards, accountability, and providing high-quality service to the Evansville community.
