Evansville, IN – Authorities have arrested a man in connection with an intentionally set house fire that caused significant property damage on December 18, 2025, in the 1800 block of North Evans Avenue.
Joshua Eugene Vailes, 36, of Evansville, was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail and charged with two counts of Arson – Dwelling. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
The Evansville Fire Department, in coordination with the Evansville Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Office, and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a six-week investigation leading to the arrest.
Officials praised the collaborative efforts and emphasized their commitment to community safety. Further details will not be released due to ongoing legal proceedings.
