FORT BRANCH, Ind. – A local man was arrested Monday evening by the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office after an alleged battery incident in Fort Branch. The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Hugh Stogsdill, faces multiple charges including battery, neglect of a dependent, and driving while on a suspended license.
Deputies were initially dispatched to a home on East Locust Street in Fort Branch in response to a possible battery incident involving Stogsdill. However, by the time law enforcement arrived at the scene, Stogsdill had already left the residence.
Authorities later located Stogsdill when he returned to the area. He was apprehended shortly after his arrival and subsequently taken into custody.
Stogsdill was transported to the Gibson County Jail, where he now faces the aforementioned charges. Further details regarding the incident have yet to be released as the investigation continues.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the case, and authorities are expected to provide more information in the coming days.
