EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A teacher and track coach at North High School is facing serious criminal charges after being accused of initiating and maintaining an inappropriate sexual relationship with a minor.
According to court records, an arrest warrant has been issued for Noah McBride, a teacher employed by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC). Authorities say McBride is facing more than a dozen felony counts, including child seduction, child solicitation, and official misconduct.
The investigation began after a teenage girl disclosed the relationship to staff at Holly’s House, a child advocacy center in Evansville. According to investigators, the victim reported that McBride first contacted her on social media when she was just 15 years old. Approximately one year later, she alleges the relationship turned sexual.
The victim told police that McBride not only engaged in sexual activity with her but also recorded their encounters and sent her explicit photos. Some of the incidents allegedly occurred in locations such as a hotel parking lot and even an ADA-compliant room within the high school itself.
In a statement to local media, EVSC officials acknowledged the investigation and said the school district is fully cooperating with law enforcement. Spokesperson Jason Woebkenberg emphasized that the district is awaiting the outcome of the investigation before taking any further action but confirmed that the allegations are being taken very seriously.
This is not the first time the school corporation has faced controversy involving staff conduct. In 2023, former EVSC tutor Jacob Butler was sentenced to 10 years in prison for child exploitation and voyeurism. That case led to a federal lawsuit against both EVSC and the University of Evansville. In 2024, additional concerns were raised by parents and a teacher’s assistant, who brought forward abuse allegations at a public school board meeting, criticizing EVSC’s handling of prior reports.
As of Wednesday, McBride had not been apprehended. Authorities continue to investigate the case and are asking anyone with additional information to come forward.
