Evansville, Ind. — A 21-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday after being caught speeding through a construction zone on the Lloyd Expressway. Officers with the Evansville Police Department were conducting a speed enforcement operation when they observed the woman, later identified as Trinity Kissel, driving at an alarming speed of 85 miles per hour in a zone where the posted limit is 40 miles per hour.
The incident occurred in the construction area between Boeke Road and Stockwell Road. Police say the high rate of speed, especially in a work zone, put both workers and other drivers at significant risk. Officers stopped Kissel’s vehicle and immediately took her into custody.
Kissel was arrested and charged with reckless driving, a serious offense that reflects the dangerous nature of her actions. Authorities are reminding drivers of the importance of adhering to speed limits, particularly in construction zones, where the safety of workers and motorists is a top priority.
This arrest highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to ensure safety on Evansville’s roads, especially in areas where construction activities are underway.
