Evansville, Ind. – The city of Evansville is continuing its commitment to neighborhood revitalization with the installation of brand new playground equipment at Stevenson Park. This latest project is part of a broader effort to enhance public parks throughout the city, ensuring that residents have access to safe and modern recreational spaces.
The announcement of the Stevenson Park upgrades follows a series of similar improvements made earlier this year. New playground equipment has already been installed at Fulton Park, while Garvin Park has seen the addition of a full Activity Zone, complete with new playground structures and safety surfacing. Additionally, a new splash pad is slated to open soon at Tepe Park, providing another exciting attraction for families.
Work at Stevenson Park is set to begin next week with the removal of the existing playground equipment. Following this, the installation of new playground features and fresh mulch will take place, along with the addition of a safety fence to enclose the play area, further enhancing the safety and enjoyment of park-goers.
The initiative has received support from Keep Evansville Beautiful, which will be lending its efforts to the project by planting landscaping around the park’s sign on Saturday, May 10th.
These upgrades at Stevenson Park align with the ongoing focus of Mayor Stephanie Terry’s administration on Neighborhood Revitalization. As part of this initiative, the city is dedicated to improving parks and creating spaces that foster community engagement, play, and family gatherings. The improvements are expected to make a significant impact on the neighborhood, providing a much-needed boost to public spaces in Evansville.
The continued investment in the city’s parks reflects the growing commitment to creating vibrant and accessible areas where residents can gather, relax, and enjoy outdoor activities. With these recent upgrades, Evansville is well on its way to providing more enjoyable and modern spaces for its citizens.
