Evansville, Ind. — Evansville Police have opened an animal cruelty investigation following a report of an injured dog on Monday evening. Officers responded to a call around 7 p.m. in the area of North Fulton Avenue after a concerned citizen reported the animal complaint.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers made contact with the person who had made the report. The individual was with a dog that appeared to have sustained multiple wounds across its body. Details on the nature and extent of the injuries have not been disclosed at this time.
Evansville Police gathered information regarding the incident, and the dog was immediately taken into the custody of Animal Control for further care and evaluation.
