EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A person has died following a mobile home fire on the Northside of Evansville late Tuesday evening.
According to local police, officers on patrol noticed smoke coming from the 1700 block of Asbury Drive in the Grandpoint Mobile Home Park. A confirmed structure fire was reported just before 9:00 p.m.
Fire crews arrived at the scene to find a mobile home engulfed in flames. Tragically, they discovered a person deceased on a couch inside the home. At this time, the identity of the individual has not been released.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Police and fire officials are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. A press release is expected to be issued on Wednesday morning with additional details.
