EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Evansville Regional Airport (EVV) officials confirmed that operations returned to normal Sunday morning following overnight snow and icy weather conditions that caused flight delays and cancellations.
According to a post on the airport’s official Facebook page, the airport’s Snow Operations team worked diligently throughout the morning to clear ice and snow from the runways and roadways. Despite their efforts, a significant amount of ice and snow remained on the ground, resulting in disruptions to air travel.
The winter weather impacted both departing and arriving flights, with five departures delayed and three arrivals also experiencing delays. Additionally, one arriving flight was canceled due to the conditions.
Airport officials emphasized the importance of staying updated, noting that flight schedules remain fluid amid inclement weather and icy conditions. EVV will continue to monitor the situation and provide real-time updates as necessary.
Travelers are encouraged to check with their respective airlines for the latest information on flight status and potential delays as conditions continue to improve throughout the day.
