EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Water and sewer utility crews will close the intersection of Walnut Street and 9th Avenue in downtown Evansville Tuesday morning. The closure, which is set to begin at 7 a.m., is necessary for the installation of a new water line.
The affected intersection is located near the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) administration building and the downtown library, making it a key area for commuters and pedestrians.
Officials have stated that, weather permitting, the intersection is expected to reopen by Thursday afternoon. Motorists and pedestrians in the area are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternative routes during the closure.
The installation of the new water line is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the city’s utility infrastructure.
