OWENSVILLE, Ind. — A three-car accident on State Route 165 near 1000 West in Gibson County has left at least two people injured, with one requiring helicopter transport for medical treatment. The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the serious nature of the injuries, prompting the use of both a helicopter and a drone to assist at the scene.
Sheriff Bruce Vanoven reported that the injuries sustained in the crash are “pretty serious,” and authorities are investigating the possibility that impaired driving may have been a factor in the accident. The driver responsible for the crash is suspected of being under the influence at the time of the collision.
The crash, which occurred earlier in the day, involved three vehicles. Emergency responders were quick to arrive on the scene, and a medical helicopter was called to transport one of the victims to a nearby hospital. In addition, a drone operator was dispatched to assist with aerial surveillance, providing an overview of the crash site for investigators.
