Evansville, IN – A fatal crash in Daviess County, Indiana, on Monday evening resulted in the death of a 76-year-old man. The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on Interstate 69, near the 55-mile marker.
According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene and discovered the driver, identified as Philip Wolter of Nashville, Indiana, trapped inside his vehicle. Authorities said Wolter had lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and overturn.
Emergency responders quickly transported Wolter to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Further details regarding the circumstances of the accident have not yet been released.
