Evansville, IN – A crash involving an Indiana State Police (ISP) trooper occurred in Evansville on Wednesday, authorities reported.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Todd Ringle confirmed that the incident took place when the trooper, driving an unmarked 2020 Dodge Charger southbound on First Avenue, was struck by a 2016 Mazda CX5. The Mazda made a left turn directly in front of the trooper’s vehicle, leading to the collision.
The trooper was unharmed in the crash, but the driver of the Mazda was treated at the scene for minor injuries. No further medical attention was required.
The driver of the Mazda was cited for failure to yield. The accident remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police.
