Lafayette, Indiana – Police said that a woman who works at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive facility in Lafayette was shot and hurt on Monday afternoon.
According to Lafayette Police Department Lt. Justin Hartman, the shooting suspect is a male employee who once had a relationship with the female.
According to Hartman, the individual is thought to have committed suicide in a location other than the one where officials discovered him.
The second shift was canceled when the all-clear was granted, according to a Subaru official, by late Monday afternoon.
Production was affected for a short time. Hartman said, “Parts of the plant shut down and other parts, I think, they were trying to evacuate people, but once we located the suspect, I think they returned to normal operations.”
The plant is located near I-65 off State Road 38. That’s on the southeast side of the city. The plant produces Ascent, Impreza, Legacy, and Outback models.
