EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A local man was arrested on Monday after a confrontation with police officers left one officer injured.
According to the Evansville Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of Morgan Avenue and Oak Hill Road following reports of a man exposing himself in public. Upon arriving at the scene, officers spotted the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Jordan Cleary, riding a bicycle.
When officers attempted to stop Cleary, he allegedly ignored their commands and fled on his bike. Police pursued him on foot, eventually catching up with him and taking him into custody.
During the struggle, an officer sustained injuries. The specifics of the officer’s injuries have not been released.
Cleary was transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail, where he was charged with resisting law enforcement causing injury. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
