Indianapolis, Indiana – Due to the upcoming winter storm that will affect the whole state, many central Indiana households who usually have their trash picked up on Friday may end up waiting.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett informed households who receive garbage pickup on Friday that storm-related cancellations might affect city services. On Friday, December 30, households can anticipate a double pickup.
Due to the expected extreme cold and snow, Carmel has also halted garbage and recycling pickup for Friday. Republic Services will pick up garbage and recyclables on Monday, according to Carmel.
Going forward, Carmel encouraged Republic Services clients to prepare to place cans on their regular service day but to be prepared for a one-day wait as Republic catches up on their routes.
Customers of Republic Service in Noblesville who have Friday pickup can continue to do so even though Monday will now be the day for trash and recycling pickup.
Customers in the Indianapolis region, including Greenwood, will also experience a delay in their Friday trash collection until December 30, according to a notice on Waste Management’s website. Customers of Waste Management in Greenfield, Hope, and McCordsville who have Friday pickup will not receive services until Monday.
