Cass County, Indiana – This week, a collision in Cass County claimed the lives of one man and injured another.
The collision was reported just before 8:30 p.m. on Monday on US 24 near the intersection with County Road 150 South, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, two pickup trucks were involved in the collision.
When he crossed the eastbound lanes of US 24, David Snyder, 66, of Russiaville, was traveling in his Ford F-250 in the northwest on County Road 150. According to authorities, a 1995 Dodge Ram traveling east struck Snyder’s pickup.
While rescuers tried to free Snyder from his car, a medical helicopter was requested to the area. Police reported that he passed away before being transported by air to a medical facility.
The other driver, James Osburn, 56, was sent to Logansport Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, according to the police.
Police don’t think any of the drivers were intoxicated. The accident is still being looked into.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the New Waverly Fire Department, the Walton Fire Department, and Cass County Emergency Medical Services were among the organizations that responded to the incident.
