Indianapolis, Indiana – Late Sunday night shooting downtown Indianapolis was fatal for one man, while another person was injured.
According to Indianapolis Metro Police Department report, deputies were dispatched at the scene to the 700 block of East Georgia Street around 11 p.m. following a 911 call in regards of a person shot. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found man and a woman suffering gunshot wounds.
Both of them were immediately transferred to hospital for treatment. The woman was transferred to Eskenazi Hospital and she is in stable condition. The male victim was transferred to Methodist Hospital in very critical condition and despite doctor’s efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The couple were outside involved in Fourth of July celebration activities when the shooting occurred, IMPD says.
Unknown vehicle stopped at the parking lot where the victims were located and someone from the vehicle opened fire.
Police don’t have suspects at this time, but they are working on the case. The investigation is ongoing.
The identities of the victims were not released immediately.
