Bloomington, Indiana – Many new projects are coming in Bloomington soon in order to improve the quality of life and ease everyday life of locals. Multiple construction projects including bus stops and sidewalk projects are coming in near future.
According to the city of Bloomington press release, at least 25 bus stops should be improved and renovated by the end of July. The stop at the intersection of West Graham Drive and South Rockport Road at Country View Apartments will be the first to see new upgrades.
According to the city officials, damaged benches will be replaced, sidewalks will be improved and loading zones will be renovated. Officials also informed residents that some sidewalks will be closed while the reconstruction. A full list of to be improved bus stops is available here.
Several playgrounds within the city will be renovated as a part of the projects. New playground equipment will be installed at Reverend Ernest D. Butler Park, located at 812 W. Ninth St., according to the release.
The playground is to have a new climber/spinner feature, benches and concrete curbing around the perimeter. An existing swing set will be repainted.
Officials didn’t provide exact date when the project will finish, but said that reopening event will take place as soon as the projects is completely finished.
The city is also allowing community members to leave feedback and suggestions online for a new playground at the Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park, located at 331 S. Washington St. This project will be installed in late 2021.
