Evansville, Ind. — A recent narcotics investigation led by the DEA Evansville Resident Office, in collaboration with local law enforcement, culminated in the arrest of two individuals on drug-related charges. The investigation, which began in December 2024, focused on Raymond M. Walker III, 52, after receiving tips that suggested he was involved in large-scale drug distribution.
On April 26, authorities stopped a vehicle driven by Walker and his passenger, Carlia P. Gullett, 31. During the stop, law enforcement officers discovered a substantial amount of illegal drugs. The seizure included 4.2 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and 4.45 pounds of cocaine, both of which were hidden in the vehicle.
Walker was arrested and charged with federal offenses, specifically possession with intent to distribute both methamphetamine and cocaine. These charges carry severe penalties due to the large quantities of drugs involved. Meanwhile, Gullett was charged with possession of marijuana, a lesser offense in comparison.
The investigation into Walker’s activities began several months ago after authorities received credible information suggesting his involvement in the trafficking of significant quantities of narcotics. The discovery of such a large drug cache during the traffic stop marks a significant achievement for the authorities involved in the operation.
Both Walker and Gullett are currently facing legal proceedings, with Walker’s case being pursued at the federal level due to the seriousness of the drug distribution charges.
