GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. — A 59-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon after Gibson County deputies observed him driving at speeds exceeding 90 MPH on Interstate 69.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Dwight Weedon, who was driving a black Chevy Impala. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed signs that Weedon might be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
After conducting a roadside investigation for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), authorities determined that Weedon was impaired. In addition to the DUI charge, deputies also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Weedon was arrested and taken into custody. He faces multiple charges, including DUI, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. He was booked into the Gibson County Jail following the arrest.
Authorities are continuing to remind drivers of the importance of road safety and the dangers of driving under the influence.
