Trafalgar, Indiana – A deadly collision happened Friday afternoon in Trafalgar, Indiana, about 40 minutes south of Indianapolis, leaving a woman from Johnson County dead.
According to a statement from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, at around 3:42 p.m., deputies were called to a two-vehicle collision near State Road 135 and South County Road 500 West in Trafalgar.
According to investigators, Jeremiah May, 16, of Morgantown, Indiana, was driving a gray 2013 GMC Sierra pickup west on State Road 135 when the incident occurred.
Hugh Gossage, 79, of Trafalgar, was hit by May as he attempted to make a left turn onto South County Road 500 West. Gossage was driving an eastbound 2005 GMC Sierra truck.
The collision resulted in injuries for both drivers. In order to treat their wounds, May, Gossage, and Gossage’s passengers were sent to hospitals in the Indianapolis region.
Mary Gossage, 79, Gossage’s passenger, also suffered injuries in the collision and was later declared dead by hospital authorities.
According to police in the press release, May admitted to deputies that he missed Gossage’s pickup as he turned.
The health statuses of May and Gossage remain unclear. At this time, no additional information has been given.
