Indianapolis, Indiana – According to an announcement made by the university on Saturday, the University of Indianapolis baseball team has officially qualified for the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.
After breaking a 2–2 stalemate in the eighth inning and winning 5–2, UIndy defeated Quincy University, the top-seeded team in the Midwest Super Regional, on Saturday to win the tournament for a third consecutive time.
The University of Indianapolis Greyhounds are the lowest-seeded team to ever win a Division II Super Regional. Additionally, this will be the first time that the squad has competed in the “World Series” since it did so in 2012.
Cary, North Carolina is going to play host to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship from June 3rd through the 10th. Saturday evening at six o’clock, the University of Indianapolis will open its championship play against Millersville University.
