Two people were injured after a car hit a tree on Bartlettsville Road near Knob Creek Road Wednesday.
The accident was reported at 5:38 p.m.
47-year-old Gregory Chambers, of Bedford, was driving south on Bartlettsville Road when he drove his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado off the road, according to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department investigation. Chambers tried to avoid an approaching vehicle in his travel path.
Chambers told the police that he had lost control of his car, went off the road and hit a tree.
Chambers suffered a head abrasion, but declined to obtain medical treatment.
The other passenger, Bloomington-based 45-year-old Jennifer Mathis was transported by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment. She complained of chest pain and suffered a facial injury.
