Indianapolis, Indiana – It’s time to bring out your inner doughnut expert. The 9th annual Circle City Donut Dash 5k will take place this year, and it promises to be even bigger and tastier than in years past.
The proceeds from this event go to Teachers’ Treasures, a volunteer-run “Shop for Teachers” that offers instructors in need free instructional materials and supplies.
Participants will congregate in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday, March 18, dressed to the nines in donut-themed gear, where they will partake in free doughnuts from Jack’s Downtown and free pizza from Hotbox after the race.
The Donut Challenge Awards asked racers to consume all 12 donut holes at the halfway mark donut station in under 45 minutes if they were up for the effort. All competitors must finish the task and keep holding the donuts until they reach the finish line to be eligible for a reward.
For those who are unable to attend in person, there is also a virtual challenge and a non-donut 5k.
Teachers’ Treasures is supported by the event’s proceeds. The money helps Marion County and neighboring districts meet their requirement for instructional supplies.
The group assists instructors from any school in these locations whose student population participates in the free or reduced lunch programs at a significant rate.
