Bloomington, Indiana – City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) crews were called to the Stands on Sunday, May 28th, to fix a damaged drinking water main. If nothing else is announced, a precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30th, for seven locations that are now without water. Visit bloomington.in.gov/utilities or call 812-339-1444 for addresses and more information.
When the pressure in the water main falls below 20 psi, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) mandates that all public water systems issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory. Those impacted should adhere to following guidelines:
• Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes prior to consumption.
• It is not essential to boil water for other uses.
• Run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water runs from the faucet as soon as your regular water pressure is restored.
