Indianapolis, Indiana – Tim Cindric and Tony George have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, according to an announcement made on Tuesday by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Cindric is currently Team Penske’s president. George, who served as Speedway’s former president and chief executive officer, is now a member of the Hall of Fame alongside his mother, grandfather, and grandmother.
The ceremony for induction is set for May 26.
In addition, IMS debuted a program to find volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.
On the day of the Indy 500 event on May 28, the two groups will have teamed up to sign up 500 new volunteers.
The mentor shortage at Big Brothers Big Sisters causes mentees to wait, on average, two years before being matched with a mentor. The waitlist for Big Brothers Big Sisters includes more than 1400 young individuals in central Indiana.
A mentor must dedicate a year to the position, meet with their mentee for 4-6 hours once a month, and participate in community events alongside their mentee.
The search for volunteers concludes on May 28.
