Bloomington, Indiana – Monroe County will have to vote over new mask mandate in the county after health officials recommended new mask mandate to be put in place.
The Commissioners are the ones responsible for safety protocols and mask mandates.
The Monroe County Board of Health will meet on Tuesday to consider if such a mandated will be ordered. Once ordered, Commissioners will hear it at a meeting Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Everyone can follow the meeting online as the Commissioners will discuss the matter on a Zoom meeting.
As of now, masks are optional for fully vaccinated people are, while the unvaccinated are recommended to wear face coverings.
Masks, however, are still required in most of the IU areas including campus buses, indoors at IU COVID-19 symptomatic testing locations indoors at IU childcare facilities and inside health care facilities.
