Indianapolis, Indiana – A restaurant from North Carolina known for its southern cuisine and customs rooted in the Carolina mountains is moving to Indiana.
The first Indiana site of Tupelo Honey Southern Restaurant & Bar will debut this spring at 320 S. Alabama Street in Indianapolis’ downtown.
Known for their emphasis on scratch-made food and warm southern hospitality, Tupelo Honey is best known for its famous bone-in fried chicken that is seasoned with a special spice mix called “bee dust.” They also serve other dishes like Tupelo Shrimp and Grits, roast beef debris with New Orleans influences, and savory and sweet brunch options.
The “Queen Mary,” a Bloody Mary with pickled jalapenos, green beans, cherry tomatoes, and a lime/salt rim, is one of the cocktails offered by Tupelo Honey.
The eatery offers a canine menu with dishes like bacon and peanut butter and pet-friendly biscuits and gravy for four-legged friends.
The 5,500-square-foot Tupelo Honey establishment in downtown Indianapolis will have a 1,200-square-foot patio and be located on the northwest corner of Alabama and South streets. With starting pay of $15 per hour, the restaurant is employing 120 people for full- and part-time jobs as chefs, servers, hosts, and bartenders.
Open interviews are offered at the Alexander Hotel beginning at 10 a.m. during an employment fair that is taking place till March 10. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
