INDIANAPOLIS — An additional 1,275 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 33 more deaths have been reported in Indiana.
The new cases push the state’s total to 647,657 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the Indiana Department of Health said Saturday.
A total of 11,722 residents have died from the virus. Another 427 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
Health officials said people 65 and older, health care workers, long-term care residents, and first responders regularly called to emergency scenes to render medical assistance are eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines.
More than 799,600 people in the state have received a first dose of the vaccine, while 320,575 have been fully vaccinated, officials added.
