Shelbyville, Indiana – Following a fire in Shelbyville on Monday morning, several people are without homes, according to firefighters.
Around 4:30 a.m., crews from the Shelbyville Fire Department were called to an apartment building fire in the 800 block of Miller Avenue. That’s about a half-mile west of Morrison Park, close to the intersection with Colescott Street.
According to the fire department’s Facebook post, when firefighters arrived, they discovered the multi-story apartment building and two residential trailers on fire.
The number of persons who the fire had forced to flee remained unknown. The American Red Cross and the fire department were providing assistance to them.
The origin of the fire was being looked into.
