Indianapolis, Indiana – A restaurant on the northeast side has had its license to operate suspended by a Marion County health inspector.
According to a Monday afternoon email from Curt Brantingham, the public information coordinator for the Marion County Public Health Department, the inspector discovered “a large amount of spilled grease in an area outside of the restaurant,” which resulted in the license being revoked for the establishment.
On Sunday night, a complaint was filed against Jordan’s Fish-Chicken-Sandwiches at 4175 N. Post Road. That is on the southwest corner of Post Road and 42nd Street. Brantingham omitted to provide detail about the complaint.
Social media images depict a mouse crawling on the floor, a staffer moving around in socks instead of shoes, and what seemed to be open containers on the restaurant’s floor.
Before the restaurant can reopen, a notice will need to be posted on the front door and health inspectors will need to visit again.
Robert Booker, who lives in the area, says, “It was really disgusting. It was horrible. It was sad to see that somebody would do that to a community. It was heartbreaking.”
Booker says the restaurant is popular in the area. “Very popular, because it’s pretty much people that really don’t have access to getting to where they need to be. This is where they come to eat at.”
The area resident adds the restaurant has broken the community’s trust. “Our goal out here is to get them to shut down completely. We don’t want them back in our neighborhood.”
Omar Siedahmed is listed as the owner of this location.
