BLOOMINGTON – A firefighter from the Monroe Fire Protection District was treated for smoke inhalation at a woods fire Sunday afternoon.
This came after the wind shifted direction on him.
At around 3:25 p.m. the Monroe Fire Protection District was dispatched for a woods fire in the 7700 block of Harmony Road in Monroe County.
The fire consumed approximately two acres, and was in a hilly wooded area making it difficult for firefighters as the fire was spreading up the hillside with the slight wind conditions at the time.
A total of 15 firefighters helped battled the blaze.
