Evansville, IN – An Evansville man was arrested on November 26, 2024, following a stabbing that occurred at the intersection of Michigan and Baker Streets. Authorities identified the suspect as 42-year-old Anthony M. Kanizar, who has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and battery with a deadly weapon.
According to the Evansville Police Department, the altercation began as a verbal dispute between Kanizar and the victim. The situation escalated when Kanizar allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife. Officers arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and quickly located the victim, who was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The victim’s condition is not currently known, but they are receiving medical care for injuries sustained during the attack. Kanizar was taken into custody without incident and later booked into the Vanderburgh County Corrections Center.
