Indianapolis, Indiana – Community Health Network will require all their employees to be fully vaccinated with Covid-19 by September 15.
The decision was announced on Thursday. It was also announced that this decision came after the vaccines have proven their effectiveness and patient safety is very important.
“The evidence is clearer every day that those who are vaccinated very rarely pass the virus to others,” Dr. Ram Yeleti, the Chief Physician Executive for Community Health Network, stated. “We have an obligation to the patients who put their health in our hands to create the safest environment possible.”
Health workers were among the first to have the opportunity to get the vaccine in December 2020. According to recent statistics, around 60% of 16,000 Indianapolis based health workers are vaccinated.
The flu vaccine was required as a condition for employment in the last years, now the same will apply for Covid-19 vaccine. According to Community Health, all vendors, contractors, and volunteers who work at its hospitals and sites are also required to have the COVID-19 vaccine.
