Indiana – After losing a CSX contract, Railcrew Xpress will be closing down some of its stations in Indiana, which will have an impact on dozens of its staff members.
Five locations, including Avon, Evansville, Lafayette, Terre Haute, and Vincennes, will lose jobs starting on February 20. There will be a total of 70 affected employees.
Individuals do not have any bumping rights, according to a notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Bumping rights allow employees with seniority to choose a different position that is held by a less-senior employee, leading to the layoff of the person with less seniority.
Missouri-based Railcrew Xpress offers transportation for train workers.
