Indianapolis, Indiana – In three overnight shootings around Indianapolis, three people died and two more were hurt.
The 9000 block of Fall Creek Road on the northeast side of Indianapolis was the scene of a reported shooting, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Officers arrived there shortly after one in the morning. Police discovered a woman who had been shot. When they were sent to a nearby hospital, she was said to be “awake and breathing”.
Police were called to a second incident on Indy’s northeast side an hour later. Officers were sent to the 4000 block of Alsace Place, according to IMPD. At the scene, they discovered a man who had been shot. He was sent to a local hospital in critical condition, but once there, he was declared dead. Gunshots were heard outside of a house close to where the man was discovered by police, according to investigations. Anyone in the neighborhood who has security cameras on their homes is urged to review the footage and get in touch with homicide police if there is anything that might be useful.
An hour later, police were summoned to a third gunshot at an apartment building on the west side of Indianapolis in the 6000 block of Lakeview Drive. A man who had been shot was found by police outside an apartment complex. Then, inside an apartment, they discovered a woman who had been shot. Both of them were declared dead at the site. A third victim, a lady, was discovered with gunshot wounds away from the crime scene. She was taken to a nearby hospital after being deemed stable.
According to the investigators, the man shot the two women before turning the gun on himself. Detectives think all three of the suspects were acquainted, although none of them were thought to be romantically engaged. After the two women were shot, a fourth individual who was present is thought to have stepped in.
Investigations continue into every shooting.
