Indianapolis, Indiana – According to a Wednesday press statement from real estate developers Milhaus, Gershman Partners, and Citimark, a new swath of apartments will be coming to Indianapolis’ Broad Ripple neighborhood.
Versa, a multimillion-dollar development, will be constructed on the site of the former Kroger Marketplace on the main drag of Broad Ripple. Along with many other facilities, it will have 233 studio, one, and two-bedroom apartment apartments.
Bringing the development to Broad Ripple, according to Milhaus Vice President of Development Brad Vogelsmeier, was a no-brainer.
“The Village embodies so many of our key values by bringing walkability and an urban feel to residents, showcasing local artists, and elevating the local community. We are eager to capture Broad Ripple’s authentic character throughout the design,” Vogelsmeier said in a release.
On Thursday, the construction of the complex began. Joe Hogsett, mayor of Indianapolis, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony alongside representatives from the real estate companies.
In addition to enhancing streetscape and improving sidewalk and alleyway conditions, the project is anticipated to cost about $70 million.
