Avon, Indiana – The newest supper option in Avon won’t take long to start serving customers.
On February 6 at 11 a.m., Swensons Drive-In will debut its first location in Indiana. At 8894 US Highway 36 in Avon, the drive-in restaurant will be situated off Rockville Road.
Ohio-based Since Reader’s Digest dubbed Swensons’ hamburgers “Ohio’s greatest burger” this summer, the restaurant is most recognized for them. The Galley Boy, a double cheeseburger topped with two secret sauces and a green olive on a toothpick, is the restaurant’s signature burger.
In addition, the company offers fried bologna sandwiches, milkshakes (18 flavors to choose from! ), and a veggie burger dubbed the Salad Boy. “Curb Servers” bring the food to your vehicle.
The chain’s 20th site is at the restaurant in Avon. The first 20 people in line will receive a free year of Swenson’s to commemorate the occasion. The first 100 customers in line will also receive one free Galley Boy for each vehicle.
When Wesley T. “Pop” Swenson started serving burgers from the back of a station wagon in 1934, Swensons served its first burger. Soon after, the business adopted the drive-in concept and reduced itself to a single hamburger stand.
All other Swensons Drive-Ins, excluding the forthcoming one in Avon, are found in Ohio, with a number of them concentrated in the state’s northeast and another grouping close to Columbus.
